
Afghani Creamy Chicken
Tender chicken cooked in a rich, creamy Afghan-style marinade with aromatic spices for an incredibly flavorful meal. Perfect for family dinners and served with naan or rice!
Ingredients
- 500g chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
- Lemon wedges, for serving

In a large bowl, combine yogurt, garlic, ginger, cumin, coriander, turmeric, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.

Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight in the refrigerator).

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.

Add the marinated chicken to the skillet, cooking until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
