
Rich Gajar Ka Halwa with Pistachios, Almonds & Edible Silver
Warm, festive gajar ka halwa topped with crunchy pistachios, sweet almonds, and a touch of elegance with edible silver. This indulgent Indian carrot dessert is perfect for celebrations, winter nights, and special family dinners.
Ingredients
- 500 grams of grated carrots
- 1 liter of whole milk
- 200 grams of sugar
- 100 grams of ghee
- 100 grams of crushed pistachios
- 100 grams of chopped almonds
- 50 grams of raisins
- 1 teaspoon of cardamom powder
- A few sheets of edible silver (varq)
Instructions

In a heavy-bottomed pan, add ghee and grated carrots. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until the carrots soften.

Pour in the whole milk and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the milk reduces and thickens.

Add sugar and stir well until it dissolves completely. Continue to cook until the mixture thickens and the ghee starts to separate from the halwa.

Incorporate cardamom powder, chopped almonds, and crushed pistachios. Mix well and cook for another 5 minutes.

Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. Serve warm, garnished with raisins and edible silver.
