Ingredients

  • 500 grams of grated carrots
  • 1 liter of whole milk
  • 200 grams of sugar
  • 100 grams of ghee
  • 100 grams of crushed pistachios
  • 100 grams of chopped almonds
  • 50 grams of raisins
  • 1 teaspoon of cardamom powder
  • A few sheets of edible silver (varq)

Instructions

  1. 1

In a heavy-bottomed pan, add ghee and grated carrots. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until the carrots soften.

  2. 2

Pour in the whole milk and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the milk reduces and thickens.

  3. 3

Add sugar and stir well until it dissolves completely. Continue to cook until the mixture thickens and the ghee starts to separate from the halwa.

  4. 4

Incorporate cardamom powder, chopped almonds, and crushed pistachios. Mix well and cook for another 5 minutes.

  5. 5

Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. Serve warm, garnished with raisins and edible silver.
